Layna began her career in 1993 as a dental nurse where she discovered her main interest was in the field of periodontal disease.
This led to studying at Glasgow Dental Hospital School of Hygiene, qualifying as a dental hygienist in 1997.
After an initial few years working in her hometown of Galashiels, Layna moved to sunnier climates on the beautiful island of Jersey where she worked for private practices there before onto Rhode Island, USA. Layna returned home to the Borders in 2011 working for practices in Biggar and Peebles. Layna joined our team in 2022 and shares our passions or high quality oral care working in sync with our other dental professionals to provide patients with the most exemplary service. When not ‘in scrubs’ Layna enjoys spending time her family and enjoying outdoor activities with friends which include lake swimming, lots of walking and skiing. She claims to be marvellous at ‘Apres Ski’ also!
