Wrinkle Treatments

Smiling mature woman with husband in the backgroundWrinkles on the upper part of the face, around the eyes, nose and on the forehead are often of concern as they can give the impression of an aged appearance.

Overactive facial muscles especially between the eyebrows, forehead and around the eyes contribute to the formation of lines (active) and wrinkles. With the loss of collagen and elastin in the skin with aging, or as a result of sun damage, the lines become increasingly apparent and permanent. The use of Botulinum toxin, Dysport to relax the underlying muscles will improve these lines and wrinkles to give a natural look to have you look good for your age.

The gold standard treatment is a series of injections of Botulinum Toxin (BOTOX, BOCOUTURE, Dysport).

BOTOLINUM TOXIN: Botolinum Toxin is well established having been approved by health authorities in over 70 countries. It has been used in hospitals for many years to treat a wide range of conditions in adults and children. These include eye problems, migraine, tight neck muscles and spasms. It has also been used cosmetically for almost 20 years.

BOTOX: can be used to relax the frown lines (glabellar region), crow’s feet and forehead lines. Botox temporarily blocks the nerve signals that tell the muscles to move, allowing the overlying skin to smooth out.

Although these treatments are famous for giving a “frozen” or artificial result, in expert hands botulinum toxin treatments can give a truly remarkable rejuvenating effect that looks completely natural.

More and more people are turning to Botox for a little bit of a lift to both their face and their self-esteem, and they’re looking good as a result.

In some patients, injections of dermal products; a Belotero product from the Merz range or a product from the Juvaderm range in combination with BOTOX, will be necessary to achieve the optimum rejuvenation to give a natural look to have you look good for your age.

Skin rejuvenation programmes using skin care products – Obagi, can enhance the overall natural improvement when combined with these injections to relax facial lines and wrinkles. My aim at Teviot Dental Practice is to provide a natural result.

DERMAL FILLERS: Part of the ageing process involves loss of volume in the skin and in the subcutaneous fat. This is noticeable in many areas of the face and can affect the shape of the cheeks, lips, eyebrows and temples. Dermal fillers are commonly used in aesthetic medicine to replace this lost volume and restore a more youthful appearance. In expert hands the use of dermal fillers can achieve dramatic results making you look and feel years younger.

Lip rejuvenation treatments are the most commonly requested aesthetic treatments at Teviot Dental Practice. I believe in a holistic rejuvenation approach to lip treatments and tend to aim towards subtle results that make a lip look younger and fresher rather than a fake and over filled appearance.
